Tyler Wang and his passion for diplomacy was ignited during his first Model UN conference, where debates and collaborative problem-solving reshaped his worldview and solidified his commitment to international relations. This experience taught him the power of clear communication and strategic thinking - skills he continues to refine.

The Story

Currently, Tyler is immersed in a rigorous academic program and continues to forge through finding innovative ideas merging his two passions: art and chemistry. Co-founding the Pitt Hopkins Student Chapter, raising awareness for rare genetic disorders, Tyler aims to collaborate with like-minded student peers to promote awareness of this rare disease. He also participated in prestigious internships at several research universities, awarding him firsthand experience with cutting-edge research in cancer treatment and robotics projects.

Tyler believes that his experience as a Model UN delegate, having competed in several high school conferences including NHSMUN, provides him the necessary training to continue being a contributing leader in society.

He was accepted by the UN Youth Office to be a Youth Delegate for the Summit of the Future, held during UN General Assembly Week 2024. He looks forward to meeting youth members from around the world to co-design solutions in achieving impact for people and the planet. In particular, he wishes to upskill on focus areas such as biodiversity loss and ecosystem collapse and adverse effects on AI.

Looking ahead, Tyler aims to attend a top-tier research university, with the long-term goal of leveraging his multidisciplinary background in a career in international relations to tackle complex global challenges like climate change, sustainability, art integration, and healthcare innovation. Tyler is determined to make a lasting impact on the world stage with his peer leaders.
